Australia Day is here for another year and so are the traditional Australia Day races at Warwick Farm! I have had a look through the card and I have found some bets that I am willing to play. Let’s get stuck in!
Warwick Farm race 3 – Glowing Gold
This Maher and Eustace filly is flying at the moment! Rising through the grades nicely from Bathurst to Canberra to Canterbury, winning everywhere she goes. She comes here looking to make it 4 on the bounce and I think she will. She has been strong through the line on all occasions so the 1600m distance should be ideal and she should park herself on the speed from the get-go and prove hard to get past. Each Way all day!
Warwick Farm Race 5 – Regal Pom
Tipped this gelding last start at Rosehill and he was held up in the run, but strong late, as usual. So hopefully, a step up in distance and a step back to midweek grade will put him in good stride on his way to getting a win. He loves the wet so hopefully, the track stays in that Soft Range and he can utilise his turn of foot to get himself over the line at a good value of $8, as of the time of writing. Another Each Way Play.
Warwick Farm BEST BET – Race 6 – Petulant
The best bet of the day comes in the 6th with Petulant. Didn’t get a win last prep because she was always running into 1 better – Pizzaro, Rubinocchi, Shades of Rose. It is that Shades of Rose form that really convinces me here, plus a trial win over North Star Lass recently makes me feel she is red hot and ready to go. Tommy Berry should get her over towards the rail with a clean jump and she can kick away from them at the top of the straight. Fingers crossed!
Warwick Farm Race 7 – Australia Day Cup – Mission Phoenix
To finish off the tips for Australia Day, of course, I’ll have a go at the cup! Mission Phoenix was my 2nd selection when he won the January Cup last start and it made me very mad that I missed out on him. That won’t be happening this time. Likes the wet and if Schiller is able to put him in a prominent enough position, he could prove very hard to beat come the final stages.
Australia Day Multi – $25.39
Wouldn’t be a holiday without a multi, so just combine all 4 of my tips to place and you will get a very pretty pricetag of $25.39, only a fiver needed and you’ve paid for your entire day’s worth of food and drink.
Good Luck legends, enjoy the day off and of course, Gamble Responsibly!
