G’Day legends, we managed to snag a couple of winners on New Year’s Day so hopefully we can keep to momentum going into the first Wednesday meets of the year. I won’t have bets every Wednesday, only when I find some I like and I have done just that today!
wednesday Best Bet
Warwick Farm R2 – 1400m Kia Ora Farnan Mdn Plate
Step Aside for Waller goes on top for me. His debut was quite eye-catching considering he was forward, perhaps a little too forward and managed to ride out all the way to the line without fading more than a length, so clearly, he has an engine to him. With a more patient ride, he can win. JMac sticks, so as long as he can get him over to the fence from the wide draw, he is in this up to his neck.
Suggested Bet: Step Aside Win
Warwick farm r5 – 1600M Exceedance’s 1St Yearl. (Bm72)
This is the race of the day by far with Karlstad, Duke of Buckingham, Rosovo and The Milky Bar Kid all talented horses and share the top of the market at the $4.40 area. I’m siding with The Milky Bar Kid here. He debuted in Australia last prep and was very dominant in his first few starts winning by a combination of 13 lengths. He failed to fire in his last start, but he had excuses as he had just found the end of his prep. However, he’s older, wiser, stronger and ready to improve as many imports do in their second Aussie prep.
Suggested Bet: The Milky Bar Kid
GEELONG R7 – 1300M RITCHIE BROS AUCTIONEERS (BM64)
Savvy Sovereign is a bet I’m willing to take on at Geelong today. Last start, he led and then just got chased down in the end and was pipped by a whisker on the line. But that horse that beat him now carries an extra 2kg and will have to lug 62kg’s in general, which is not easy. Savvy Sovereign maps to lead and should be able to go all the way with it.
Suggested Bet: Savvy Sovereign Win
3 Bets and hopefully 3 winners for your Wednesday, good luck!
