Do the Cats manage to go back to back in 2023? Can the Swans bounce back after a devastating thrashing in the Granny? And what is going to happen with my beloved Bulldogs? Let’s explore it, shall we? Here are my 2023 AFL Predictions including the final ladder, premiers and who takes home the Brownlow. Yes, the season doesn’t start for a long, long time, but I couldn’t help myself from having a stab at some predictions this far out from September. So below I have listed my predicted Ladder, Premier, Runner-Up, Brownlow Medalist, Coleman Medalist and Rising Star. As…

Picture this – It’s the 2021 NAB AFL Draft, and the Kangaroos have the first pick, they take the South Australian native Jason Horne-Francis, and the AFL community are excited to see what this young jet can bring to a struggling football club. Could he be the lord and saviour that pulls them out of wooden spoon obscurity? Could he lead them to a brighter future? Could he become an all-time Kangaroos great? The Answer? None of the above. Instead, the young man that was meant to be the hottest prospect in all the land turned out to be a…

This weekend we head to Rosehill Gardens, my local track, and I am thinking of heading down there for the first time this year so hopefully, I can watch my tips get across the line in first place. Track Report: The weather is currently forecast for blue skies and sunshine. At the time of writing, track is rated a Soft 5, but I expect Good 4 or even Good 3 racing by the end of the day. Rail is out 3 metres for the entire circuit, meaning leaders should get a slight advantage, with the track already being a typical pace…

In this Magic Millions 3YO Guineas Runner-By-Runner Guide, we sort the pretenders from the contenders and tell you who is the best chance to win the big one! On Saturday, we get to see what truly is one of the greatest dart board races of all time, as on paper about 80% of this field could really take it out with no surprises. So, it has been extremely difficult to ween out the contenders and had to be hyper-critical to write a horse off, but I have given it my best shot! 1: Tijuana Tijuana comes into this one first-up…

In this Magic Millions 2YO Classic Runner-By-Runner Guide, we sort the pretenders from the contenders and tell you who is the best chance to win the big one! On Saturday it will be a showdown of the Gimcrack Stakes and Breeder’s Plate winners Platinum Jubilee vs Empire of Japan. Or will it? There is a multitude of good chances in this race and it is pretty much a roll of the dice, but I am going to try and make some sense of it. 2: Sovereign Fund Was a horse that I was thinking had probably the top chance outside…

After 1 win and a runner-up from our tips last Wednesday, we are back again with just a few horses that I think have the chops to win this week in the midweek meeting. Wednesday Best betWarwick Farm r1 – Step Aside Step Aside seems to just keep finding one that is slightly better, but he blitzes the rest of the field. Beaten by a lip in both starts to date, I feel as though the maiden finally gets broken here before he goes to a Saturday Benchmark grade, as I really think he will be up to it. Jump,…

America is going to be a major player in World Cricket within the next 20 years. There I said it, I know I sound stupid, but somebody had to point it out. The sport of cricket is one of the most popular sports in the world, with countries such as Australia, India, Pakistan, New Zealand and England all obsessed with the game, however, it never quite landed in the USA, until now. This is because America already has baseball, a very similar bat and ball game. However, the USA is now catching on to the phenomenon that is Twenty20 cricket,…

As I said in my ‘Best Jersey Ever Worn By Each AFL Team’ article last week in Sports, a jersey can make or break a team’s identity. An ugly jersey can make a sporting club look silly, unintimidating and unprofessional and you’d be surprised just how many times this has happened over the years. Like seriously, for some of these, were the clubs even trying? From P*ss Stains to complete changes in colour schemes to superhero lookalikes (I still get nightmares as a Bulldogs fan), let’s go through all the stinkers the AFL has ever produced.

Imagine a world where all of your favourite sports movies were a reality and the teams that compete in them were actually real. Well, that is what we are doing today. I am an avid lover of sports films and I have decided to go through and rank the Top 10 greatest fictional sports teams of all time. And yes, I will be pretending that these teams are actually real entities and I am basing the rankings on their success as such. So it is no reflection of how good the movie was, although a slight bias might have crept…
