We are back for another week of trying to hack the Autumn Carnival with some Futures Bets. Last week we made what I think still looks like a solid bet with Madme Pommery after a sound run in the Surround Stakes and we easily snagged Anamoe at over even money in the Chipping Norton! Let’s continue that form! If you’re new here, essentially whenever we see a price we like for a horse we think has the goods, we will jump on it and post about it in this weekly column! Anamoe – George Ryder Stakes – $2.40 (Pre-noms) On…

See the Bombers fly up, up! To win the Premiership flag! Maybe in 30 years’ time when they actually fix the complete and utter shambles that is their football club. The fact that their finals win drought has now hit the stage where it can legally drive, drink, vote and gamble speaks for itself about how little success has come the Bombers’ way in the last 20 years since that premiership run at the turn of the millennium. Will they be able to change their fortunes in 2023? They’re coming off the back of a very dramatic last-minute coaching change,…

Another return to just the 2 winners for me last week with plenty of silver and bronze, as I am becoming accustomed to. However, they were some strong winners at $5.50 and $8.50 at the time of writing with Cheerful Legend and Parisal respectively, so while I could find some value, I would love to see my strike rate take a big improvement this weekend! Let’s get into the week of racing. Track Report: Randwick is currently rated a Soft 6 at the time of writing but we are meant to have a hot Friday and a Hot Saturday, so…

We are back for another week of trying to hack the Autumn Carnival with some Futures Bets. Last week we made 3 solid bets and this week we are back for one more. Unfortunately, our first bet of the Autumn ran last week and failed horribly. Nature Strip just didn’t fire like the world thought he would. If you’re new here, essentially whenever we see a price we like for a horse we think has the goods, we will jump on it and post about it in this weekly column! Madame Pommery – Vinery Stud Stakes – $16 (Pre-Noms) On…

A nice return to form last weekend for my Racing form eye, no prizes for finding In Secret and Anamoe but a win is a win after all. We were able to snag Quantico as well, which was a nice win to get. Been a while since I have had 3+ wins on a card, hopefully, that form continues here. Track Report: The track report is very tricky as we are scheduled to be at Rosehill with the rail in the true position but with 38-degree heat expected the races could be moved forward, postponed or even moved to Randwick,…

11 runners down the famous Flemington Straight this Saturday in the prestigious Lightning Stakes named after the invincible one that was Black Caviar. The stage is set, will Nature Strip return to his former glory? Or is it time for a new star to take the mantlepiece as Australia’s top sprinter? Let’s unpack the chances of each contender. 1: Nature Strip He is the World’s Best Sprinter and has some fantastic form down the Flemington Straight and according to all of his trials and trackwork, he is looking prime for one more dominant prep before riding off into the sunset.…

With the NRL expanding to a 17-team competition this year by adding the Redcliffe Dolphins or just ‘The Dolphins’ as the league is hell-bent on calling them, it got me thinking about all the previous clubs that have come and gone in this great league of ours. Some are still kicking as we know, come on the mighty Newtown Jets! Whereas others died a very abrupt and hopefully painless death and haven’t been seen since their departure from the comp. So let’s take a look at all 17 of them and see where they did indeed end up! We have…

Welcome back for another weekend of prime-time racing at Randwick and the stars have finally aligned and they are back in business. Anamoe, In Secret, Madame Pommery, Mo’Unga, El Bodgegon and many more are stepping out for the first time this Autumn. We snagged 2 winners last week and plenty of seconds (Of course we did) and a couple of them were in narrow photo finishes, very disappointing. Let’s get some more this week! Track Report: The weather is forecast for some rain in the leadup to Saturday, if all of it comes we should be soft 5-6, but it’ll…

We are back for another week of trying to hack the Autumn Carnival with some Futures Bets. Last week we made 3 solid bets, with one of them already being halved in price! If you’re new here, essentially whenever we see a price we like for a horse we think has the goods, we will jump on it and post about it in this weekly column! Spacewalk – The Galaxy – $17 on Sportsbet (Pre Noms) Here is a very smart horse that will be headed towards a sprint like The Galaxy I feel. He was very impressive in the…
